Clear Skies is a private circle of friends, family and founders. When something remarkable crosses the desk, it goes out to the network — and those who want in participate through a purpose-built SPV for that single company.
What Clear Skies is
Built around people, one deal at a time.
There is no blind pool and no committed capital. Clear Skies is simply the way a group of people who trust each other look at private companies together — and decide, deal by deal, whether they want to be part of one.
One SPV per company
Each opportunity gets its own special purpose vehicle, formed and independently administered. You choose the companies you want exposure to — never a bundle.
Wide-open aperture
AI and infrastructure, defense, health and longevity, fintech, food and consumer brands. The through-line is founders worth backing, not a narrow thesis.
Shoulder to shoulder
We invest alongside the network in the same vehicle, on the same terms. Nobody is being sold anything — we are all simply choosing what to be part of.
How it works
Four steps, and nothing hidden in between.
The whole process is deliberately plain. No committed capital, no capital calls, no obligation to participate in anything.
Something surfaces
A company reaches us through the network — a founder we know, an operator we trust, or an investor we have worked beside for years.
It goes out by email
If it is worth a look, we write it up and send it to the network with what we know, what we like, and what gives us pause.
People opt in — or don't
Anyone interested says so. Anyone who isn't simply passes. There is no minimum cadence and no expectation either way.
An SPV is formed
A dedicated vehicle is stood up for that single company. Formation, closing and ongoing administration are handled by an independent fund administrator.

A simple dinner can shift a trajectory.
Clear Skies grew out of thirty years of building companies and the relationships that came with them. It is not an institution and does not try to be one — it is a group of people who happen to trust each other's judgment, looking at private companies together and occasionally deciding to back one.
Christopher founded Passageways, an Inc. 500 software company, and today builds and advises across community software, leadership development and venture. He is a Salzburg Global Seminar fellow, the longest-tenured mentor at Purdue's Entrepreneurship Academy, and a founding mentor in the ATP Player Mentoring Programme.
